On October 6, 2019, a group of about 75 people gathered at Sierra Vista Baptist Church in Rancho Cucamonga to worship together for the first time as Story Church. Since that day three things have been true in an enduring way:

It’s been a wild ride. Events in and out of our control have created high highs and low lows. We have had seasons of joy and victory, suffering and hardship, and abundance and scarcity.

God has been present and faithful. God’s care for us has been evident. His Spirit’s work among us has been undeniable. His gospel has gone forth and transformed lives.

We’ve done it together. God has given Story Church a unique sense of purpose, service, and mission. He has created a family of faith marked by love, unity, and togetherness. Our culture has been firmly ingrained in our church.

Nothing shapes the present quite like history. Our shared history has formed a church that is deeply in love with Jesus, living for His glory, and zealous for His mission.

Officially moving into our 24/7 location on Church Street has been an amazing testament of God’s grace to us. What a joy to see the ways everyone has participated with prayer, service, gifts, and generosity. In 2025-2026 our church gave ~$1M in total offerings (including gifts to our Greater Campaign)! Though the location has changed, our core identity hasn’t — we are deeply committed to God’s glory, the expansion of the gospel message, and seeing His Kingdom come on earth as it is in Heaven.

As we seek to take Rancho for the name of Jesus, our one core purpose remains: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” (Matthew 28:19-20) 

We thank God for where He has brought us and we believe His Spirit is doing mighty works through Story Church. 

As the Lord continues to grow us, the current needs in our ministry are becoming even more clear: 

  • More volunteers to serve in a variety of ministries.

  • Increase in rent and ministry expenses through the end of year. 

  • Additional paid staff to oversee this work.

This relocation is simply the start of God orchestrating opportunities for us to make disciples for His glory.

When God provides in miraculous ways for his people the human propensity is to turn inward, to grow indifferent, and to lose zeal for the gospel. This story is all over the Bible, most prominently when Israel desires to go back to Egypt after God’s remarkable deliverance.

But the story of Scripture is that God’s people are blessed to be a blessing. (Genesis 12:1-3). We have received grace to give grace away. We have been loved to love one-another. We have been comforted to comfort each other. We have been reconciled in order to be ambassadors of reconciliation. God’s goodness towards us is never meant to be a cul-de-sac but rather a through street.

In light of that:

Together, let’s create the best environment possible for just One More to come to faith by being a place where the gospel is preached clearly and everyone encounters the love of Jesus.

Together, let’s instill a culture of hospitality for just One More to know the love of God towards them in Christ Jesus by continuing to train and empower our volunteers, leaders, and church to be hospitable wherever they find themselves. 

Together, let’s multiply the entry points for just One More to step into a relationship with Jesus by strengthening our existing ministries and starting new opportunities to equip the saints of Story Church to reach One More. 

Together, let’s cultivate a praying church for just One More to respond to the gospel message by inviting every member of Story Church to actively engage in fervent, believing, expectant prayer.

Together, let’s advance a movement of mission for just One More to come to the knowledge of Jesus Christ by inviting, sending, resourcing, and helping our church see themselves as missionaries where they already are. 

Together, let’s empower a joyful generosity for just One More to bow the knee to King Jesus by asking us all to consider how to take the next step of generosity to the mission Jesus has for us. 

Together, let’s step into a future built on faith, for God’s glory and just One More in the Kingdom.

When we consider next steps, we can lean on our history. Though it will be a wild ride, God will show Himself to be faithful and powerful. 

No fancy initiatives. No new shiny objects. Simply the power of God and the participation of His people.

To become a place of a perpetual adding of just One More Story of God’s redeeming grace, we’re asking each person of Story Church to make a choice in creating this future. Take a look at the steps on the next page. Consider what your next step of obedience is. Write it down on the card provided and commit to it.

GOALS BY THE END OF THE 26/27 MINISTRY PLAN

Grow in Breadth

1. Spend one thousand hours in prayer for our One.

2. Have one thousand gospel conversations with our One.

3. Distribute one thousand invites to reach just One. 

Gospel First & Foremost

1. Proclaim the gospel regularly to yourself and to your friends. 

2. Host your One More Story for dinner and share the Good News with them (again and again!).

Everyone Participates

1. Join a Home Group and attend weekly.

2. Sign up to serve if you aren’t already.

Grow in Depth

1. Have 50 people gathered weekly in a prayer slot.

2. Connect 50 adults to new Home Groups.

3. Gain 25 new volunteers across our ministries.

Biblical Authority

1. Sign up for Men’s or Women’s Bible Study and regularly attend.

2. Continue faithfully reading through the annual Bible reading plan.

Spirit-Led Courage

1. Pray for God to bring a One into your life.

2. Be sensitive to the moments the Spirit is leading you to share the gospel or invite to church.

3. Be willing to take a bold step out of your comfort zone. Set a date and act by then. 

Prayer Saturated

1. Come to pre-service prayer every week at 8am.

2. Make one prayer slot per week the one you own.

Joyful Generosity

1. Give for the first time or give regularly.

2. Increase your giving by 1% this year.

  • Including increased rent obligations, insurance, supplies, utilities, signage, and other necessary expenses.

  • Including Home Groups, classes, men’s and women's bible studies, counseling, other events, and related ministry staffing costs.

  • Including all of our local and global partnerships, local outreach efforts, and equipping ministries, and related ministry staffing costs.

  • Including Story Kids, Story Students, camps, resources, events, and related ministry staffing costs

  • Including all Sunday gatherings, prayer gatherings, resourcing and equipment for these gatherings, and related ministry staffing costs.

  • This is our commitment to keep 3-6 months of operating expenses in savings and saving toward a future permanent home

  • Additionally, if we give above and beyond the $900,000 ministry plan, we are praying towards expanding worship ministry by hiring a full-time worship minister to be in position by Easter 2027.

And Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”
